Register Youngest Youth
How nice that your child wants to become a member of MHCL! Children up to 10 years old are considered the youngest youth.
Want to get to know hockey? Come for a trial training!
As a trial member you can train for free for 2 weeks. Then you can first see if your child likes the sport before you register your child at MHCL.
If your child has a friend who has been playing hockey for a while, we try to take into account the (trial) training sessions. The children who still need to master the basic skills of hockey, train regularly in their own group on the field in order to be able to catch up with the rest more quickly.
During the (trial) training, the use of a mouthguard and shin guards is mandatory! The mouthguard is available from us for a fee in the clubhouse and you can borrow a hockey stick from us until you have one yourself.

Funkey (from 4 years)
Children from groups 1 and 2 are our Funkeys!
Under 8 (6 to 7 years)
Is your child 6-7 years old at the start of the current season (October 1)?
Under 9 (8 years)
If your child was 8 at the start of the current season, your child will train with the under 9s.
Under 10 (9 years)
If your child was 9 at the start of the current season, your child will train with the under 10s.

Upon registration, a one-time entrance fee of €55 will be charged. All payments are made by direct debit.
Indoor hockey
Indoor hockey is a fixed part of the membership for the (youngest) youth. Only the Funkeys have a winter break, they have no training and no competition during the indoor period.
Parental involvement
MHCL is a club 'for and by members' and that means that we do it together.
Each team needs a few permanent coaches. In addition, the tasks are divided, so sometimes you have to drive as a parent or supervise the game. A few times a year, a team has bar duty and/or the competition table as a task. Everything is of course explained in advance and communicated in time via email and our own club App.
And of course you will have time left for the most fun task there is: supporting your child on the sidelines!
